BHRS Accreditation
Welcome to the BHRS accreditation points system. This is a system whereby you can achieve re-accreditation using a points-based scheme instead of re-sitting the exams. Points are awarded in several different areas including conferences attended, training completed, and papers written.
The BHRS re-accreditation system is available to BHRS / EHRA / IBRHE accredited members.
Starting the process
Before proceeding to the main system, you must upload your original accreditation certificate.
Once you have uploaded your certificate you can proceed to collect points in your re-accreditation diary. You need a minimum of 25 points to be re-accredited, and points are awarded in the following areas: Events; Papers; Implants; and Other. These are listed in separate categories at the top of the first page. By clicking on each category you will be able to enter the relevant information. Supporting documentation is essential.
You will notice a “home” symbol on the top left of your screen. Clicking on this will take you to the front page of your diary at any time.
Events:
Events: Event points are awarded for conferences attended or training received. Points are allocated on hours of education received, or conference length. When you click on this category you will be taken to an database of searchable events. The database has a number of filters to help your search. You can select to filter by Once you have selected the year a dropdown box will allow you to filter by company. Using the ADD button on the right will take you to that event where you can check the details are correct. If it is a multiday event you will be able to add how many days you attended. The CHOOSE FILE button allows you to upload your supporting document. It is essential that you upload proof of attendance not an itinerary or email confirming your place. When that is done, click SUBMIT, and move on to the next item to record.
If you think we have missed an event, let us know using the “SUGGEST AN EVENT” button. This will take to you to a form where you can suggest any event which you think might be relevant. Please note, that events must be within the last 5 years and relevant to cardiology and arrhythmia.
Papers:
The second category PAPERS allows you to upload any information about papers or books that you have published. Please be aware that you will only be awarded points if you are the first author. On this screen, you will be asked to add the title, date, description, journal of publication, and authors. Papers are awarded 5 points.
Implants:
You can achieve 5 points by showing that you have achieved the BHRS recommended guidelines for implants in three of the last 5 years.
Other:
If you have organised an event, or done something which you believe should give you BHRS points, you can submit the details here and it will be evaluated by the accreditation committee.
Submitting:
Points are visible at all times in your diary home. When you have accumulated 25 points, you can submit your diary to us and we will evaluate it. Once you have submitted your diary it will go to a panel to be approved. As soon as it is approved it will appear in your diary online. While you will be able to see that your re-accreditation has been approved, this is not the end of the process and at this point an email will be sent to you giving payment details. This may take up to two weeks so please be patient. After you have paid, a new accreditation certificate will be sent to you. Again this may take up to two weeks, although it is usually much faster.
